"The Romans borrow [names] from the Macedonians, the Greeks from the Romans, the Sarmatians from the Germanic peoples, and the Goths frequently from the Huns." (Jordanes, *Getica*)
It is impossible to know whether the Huns actually used Germanic names, or if Latin sources altered their names, transforming them into Germanized versions; however, intermarriages between Huns and Germanic peoples certainly did take place—for instance, the name of Attila’s final wife, Hildiko, was a Germanic name.

Or take, for example, the name #Ragnar, which appears among the Scandinavians in the 9th century; the Hunnic leader Ragnaris (6th century) was a chieftain of the Bitgor clan of the Huns. Nor was it a coincidence that their kings adopted the name and/or title of *Hakan* (Haakon, Hákon, Håkan, Hakon, Hagen, Háukon, Hacon, Àcainn), or that they bestowed the title of *Earl* (*Er İl*) upon the land-owning lords loyal to the king. Indeed, while they interpreted *Hakan* as meaning "exalted son," they stated that "the earliest attested usage of the title *Earl* is the Proto-Norse *eril* from the 6th century AD"... yet, despite saying this, it never crossed their minds to consult the Turkish language for either *Hakan* or *Earl*. And why would it? The Turkish language—possessing a history of at least 6,500 years—was, in the eyes of the "youth," considered "old"....
And then there was Odin, wasn’t there? He—along with his consort Jörd (pronounced *yiort*)—belonged to the "Asians" who hailed from #Tyrkland (Turkland); his own name, OD (Woden/Odun), was—albeit erroneously—interpreted to mean "possessed" or "demon-afflicted," while hers was likewise of Turkic origin—derived from *yort* (Bashkir), *jurt* (Kazakh/Altai), or *yurt*. And what of their son, Thor (TUR)? Or the fact that Odin’s father, Bur, had three sons? It was also intriguing that Odin’s grandfather bore the name Búri—a name derived from *Börü* (Wolf)—much like Odin’s own "Wolf Warriors." Furthermore, the depiction of Odin’s steed, Sleipnir, as having "eight legs" was inspired by the "Eight-Legged Scythians."

To the "First Turk"— and to those who harbor hatred toward the Turks and wish for their annihilation—consider this: you must bring to mind the possibility that your own ancestors, too, could vanish—and that, consequently, you yourselves would cease to exist. For neither kingdoms nor nations endure forever...
"Romalılar Makedonlardan, Yunanlılar Romalılardan, Sarmatlar Germenlerden ve Gotlar da sıklıkla Hunlardan (isimler) ödünç alırlar." (Jordanes, Getica)

Peki ya Odin’in babası Bur’un üç oğlunun olmasına? Odin’in dedesinin adının da Börü’den gelen BÚRI olması da ilginçti; Odin’in Kurt Savaşçıları gibi. Odin’in atı Sleipnir’in "sekiz bacak" ile betimlenmesi de "Sekiz Bacaklı İskitler"den esinlenilmişti.
